This weekend my old roommate, Kim, came to visit! Not only did she come, she brought her sweet dog, Macy, with her. I have a special love for Macy because not only was she the first dog I ever had, but we got her as a puppy, so I really got to see her "grow up!" Not to mention, she is so stinkin' cute. Seriously. When Kim and I lived together back in the day, she would come home with me every now and the and we would bring Macy. Well, Saturday night when we were going to bed, Macy walked straight to my room like she was here last weekend. It's been about a year and a half since she's been here, really, and she still remembered. I loved that.
Anyway, I am so glad Kim came this weekend. It has been FAR TOO long since I've seen her, let alone spent time with her. Saturday after she got here, we just got caught up on life, and then we enjoyed a fabulous dinner with the parents. After dinner, she hadn't seen August Rush yet, and since it is clearly a favorite of mine, I made her watch it! She said she liked it, so I am so hoping she actually did! :) She left Sunday morning when I left for church, but I am so thankful to have spent that time with her before she moves to California THIS Friday! Yep, sweet Kim is about to start her Master's degree at the Art Institute of San Fransisco and I am so proud. She is truly one of the greatest artists I know. I even have a painting from her to prove it! I know she is going to do so great at school! Kim is one hard worker.
What I have always loved about Kim and I is that we are the epitome of opposites. She grew up in La Grange and is a country girl, and I grew up in Houston and am a city girl. And that's just the beginning of our totally different lives, BUT, we get along so very well! And lived together so very well. I guess opposites really do attract!
So, needless to say, and as I have said a million times this one post, I am so glad I got to see Kim!
I was so excited to have Macy in my lap again!
After all the wonderful festivities on Sunday, I finished my day at HFBC and heard an awesome word from Jerrell Altic. He spoke on the Sabbath and challenged me to truly take a Sabbath and slow down. To cease. I also got to see some old friends that I haven't seen in forever which was fun. And, sweet Nancy let me sit on her row with her since I was friendless this past Sunday! So, thank you, Nancy, for letting me sit with you! Maybe I'll do it again sometime, even if I have a friend! :)
Well friends, I'm out! Michael Phelps is about to swim, so the T.V. needs my undivided attention. He MIGHT break another world record.
Love you all!

Macy is one cutie pie!!! Too bad you don't live closer. She could have visited and played with my pup, Payton too. I think they are about the same size. And I bet they would have had some good, doggie fun!
Much love,
~Cheryl
