Tubby the Titanic. Who knew he could be so fun?!

It's a tradition, Tubby. Let me explain. Tubby is a plastic toy boat sand box. This infamous toy has been passed through the upper class men at CBC for quite sometime. Well, much to our surprise, Tubby ended up in our tree, specifically for Kevyn and the Junior men. Who put it up there, you ask? The one and only group of Senior Women! Now, I will say, I was with these ladies during the crime, but I was amused, so I agreed to let it happen! Tubby was in our tree all night long, until Kevyn arrived home to see the set-up on Sunday afternoon!!! Oh, but who knew Tubby could be so much fun, in our own backyard!!

Here are the Eddy family adventures with Tubby. (Or, Tub, as I like to call him!)

Kevyn and Daniel, so happy to be with Tubby! :)

Does this picture not look fake?!

Come Sail Away....

Tubby was caught in a violent storm, Brien came to the rescue! ;0)

Look out, folks....

I had just broken a plastic chair...who are we looking at?!
The boys, attempting to push us around.

Everyone on the lookout...

Eddy family '07 christmas picture!

And that, my friends, are the wonderful adventures with Tubby, the Titantic.

CLARITY...

Well, hello everyone! I just got up from taking a nap. :) It was a sweet one! Let me just tell you...I was exhausted after this weekend, but, oh, what a blast it was!

It was a blast, yet bittersweet at the same time! This weekend, I had senior girls. I love them so much! They make my heart so filled with joy. The reason it was so bittersweet is because I have had this same group of girls since they were freshmen! What in the world am I gonna do next year?! I'm gonna miss them, but they are so ready for college, and I am so excited for them! It is just such a neat thing watching the same girls for 4 years, to watch them grow in their faith, to watch them worship, to watch them encourage each other! How exciting!! The Lord is so good to us!

The theme of the retreat was Clarity. I wish I could go on and on to tell you all the things I learned, but I would probably run out of room. It was just amazing. One thing I will share with all of you is one passage that struck my heart, and so many more hearts, it is powerful.

Nehemiah 8 says:

1 all the people assembled as one man in the square before the Water Gate. They told Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded for Israel.
2 So on the first day of the seventh month Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, which was made up of men and women and all who were able to understand. 3 He read it aloud from daybreak till noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate in the presence of the men, women and others who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law. 4 Ezra the scribe stood on a high wooden platform built for the occasion. Beside him on his right stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah and Maaseiah; and on his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malkijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah and Meshullam. 5 Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; and as he opened it, the people all stood up. 6 Ezra praised the LORD, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, "Amen! Amen!" Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.

He simply opened THE BOOK (the bible) and all the people STOOD UP! How powerful is that? Just imagine if every time we opened up the word of God and stood up, they had that much reverence for the Lord! Oh, if only we would. So many times, we automatically stand up to applaud someone. We stand up automatically when worship starts. But, do we stand up when we open the book? It just taught me how much reverence and respect we really should have for the one and only Jesus Christ, and his God-breathed book. The only TRUTH of the world. That verse made me think so much, just thought I would share it with you!

If you have never heard of Dr. David Platt, I would encourage you to search for him and see what he has to say. I can't even describe the knowledge and the desire he has to give God ALL the Glory. He has such wise and amazing things to say!

That's about all, folks. (Actually, there's tons more I could tell you, but I will refrain!) Thank you to all who prayed for the weekend! :) It was amazing and it couldn't have happened without prayer!

Quiet...

Hello All,

To those reading this, I am just letting you know that the blog will be a bit quiet for the next weekend, as I am leading a retreat for my church back home!

The theme is "Clarity" This is how we see God's word, study God's word, and understand God's word. If you would, just lift this retreat up in prayer with me...pray that the Lord would work in the lives of the students, and the leaders. Also, please pray for Student Life, as that is who we are hooking up with. Pray that everything for them would go smoothly and that...

The Lord would get ALL the glory, as he is SO worthy of it!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Let it be filled with Christ's love!

Praying for a fresh word this weekend,
Lindsee

My Dog, Macy

As you can see, I have a special dog. We all love her. You should too!

Now, this is what I call absolutely PRECIOUS...

You ask, "What is precious?!" Well, let me tell you...

BABIES!!!!

No, I don't have any of my own...but I sure love being an auntie. And no, none of my siblings have babies...but my best friend does...so what does that make me...an auntie!!!

Anyway, I got to see Jude and Gracie on sunday, and they make my life a much happier place to be. You can see why, below!

(So, thank you to Sally and Kaye for providing such precious babes for us to play and have fun with!)

Jude and Auntie Lindsee :)

We love to laugh..... What is more precious than a momma and her baby boy...their glowing! :) I love my Aunties! :) Jude, and his 'smart' glasses...
Momma and her sleeping baby...she was worn out after the hiccups and giggling :)

Auntie Jo and Jude...once again..happy as a clan!

This is Jude showing off his new spitting abilities....

They are precious...and oh so fun!! That's all I can say...

G'night to all!!! :)

Make new friends, but keep the old....

Can I just tell you....

There is absolutely NOTHING on earth that is just more precious than old friends! There is just something about them. Sally, Joanna and myself were all at the missions conference tonight and it was just the best of times!!! What I love about it..is that even though we are all in different stages of life, nothing changes. We come together and just pick up where we left off...laughing our heads off!! (Jenny, we wish you were there!)

I seriously am one of the most blessed girls on this earth to have the friends that I do!! I love them so much! I have a handful of precious relationships at Sam that I treasure so much, and of course am so blessed for the old friendships I have back home!!

I love all you girls dearly...

I would post some HILARIOUS pictures of the babes...but I am writing on my parents computer, and they don't have the software downloaded so I can upload pictures.

Just be on the lookout for some more precious pictures of Jude, Gracie, and of course Jo and Sal!!!! :)

Love you all,

Goodnight!! :)

MY ROOMIE IS ENGAGED!! :)

Praise the Lord!!! Everyone can clap their hands and do a little dance...because Kim Cook is finally engaged to Chris!!!! :) YEA!! It was such a fun night.

Let me tell you, I have become such a great liar. I mean, is this a good thing?! Between 4 other engagements, and now Kim's, I totally know how to lie to these precious girls. I'm not saying it has been easy, but definitely do-able!

So, I know you are all wanting to hear the story, so this is how it went! :)

Kim is an art major here at Sam. This past week she has had her own art show in the art department. Tonight (Thursday night) was the night of the reception, the show doesn't end till Saturday, but tonight was food and everything! So, Chris decided he would do it tonight at her show!! How special this was to her, saying art is her passion! :) He told her parents and his parents when he was doing it and they were all able to make it!! Her mom then proceeded to call me and let me know a few weeks ago that it was happening tonight...it really is so hard not telling anyone when you are SO excited!!! It was a special time, not only could both the families be there, but many of the phi lamb girls were able to make it...such a sweet thing for all of us to witness. Now, I do have to confess. I did tell MANY people about it, but Kim never heard one word! Hey, I was doing her good, right?! The more the merrier!!! Thankfully also, I was able to make it! With my class issue interfering, I was afraid I couldn't be there, I was so excited when my teacher let me go early! I wouldn't have missed it for the world!!

Anyway, we are all absolutely THRILLED!! Now, time to plan another wedding!! So fun!! Enjoy some pictures of this special time!!

Chris on one knee..

She said, "YES!"

Phi Lamb girlie's!!! :)

BLING!!! I love my roomie!!

CONGRATULATIONS Chris and Kim!!! I love you!! :)

My Pal...

Whew!!! What a FUN weekend it has been!

This weekend was EXTRA special because I got to see my new favorite mommy...not to be confused with MY mother! Sally, is my new favorite mommy. I will say, it starts getting really weird when your best friends start having babies, I feel like she just go married!! But, oh how fun it is to have babies around...they are such a JOY! Me, Jude and Sally had such a fun time packing up her college station home and laughing!! And, I will say, we got ALOT accomplished, or at least I hope we did!!

My absolute favorite part was getting to play with Jude. Now, people have asked me if I am biast because it is my best friends baby, and yes, I am. But, I need everyone to know the he is the CUTEST baby in the world. His smile and laugh could melt anyone's heart! Oh, how fun!

As usual, Sally and I laughed our heads off! Something I absolutely LOVE about this girl...we could laugh at anything, be completely silly, and still be productive.

Anyway, we had such a fun time! As always, Jon is as patient and out of our way as he can be. We are a bit overwhelming at times..but he loves it! ;) Thank you, Jon, for being SO patient with us! We are CRAZY! And now, after all this packing and moving, they will live in Houston until they go overseas!! YEA!! This means I get to see them way more often, so exciting!! :)

Hope you all had a splendid weekend and were as productive as we were!!

Enjoy some pictures of precious Jude!
Mommy and Jude! :)

This picture was seconds after a HUGE smile. I'm just not quick enough! ;) (below)

The face I got all the time from him. In my translation, he was thinking, "Is this weird girl really still here?!" (below)

Sweet times!

I just have to let you all know that the Lord has been so good to me this past week! He has just blessed me IMMENSELY with such sweet times with him, and with my sweet friends.

So often I pray that my conversations would give glory to him and that he would just bless it, because so often it doesn't, but he has totally done that this week! I know it is such a little thing to be happy about, but such an encouraging thing! I absolutely LOVE uplifting conversations...and I have had so many this week!

Just thought I would share that with you! I pray he is blessing you this week!

On another note, my heart is absolutely thrilled because I get to spend some of this weekend with my favorite new MOMMY, Sally!! I am headed to College Station tomorrow to help her pack her home, and of course, play with sweet JUDE!! They are moving to Houston next week, so I am just so excited!! :)

I will post pictures upon my return! I know you will want to see baby pictures. So, don't worry dear ones, I've got it covered!

HUGS to all of you, and hope you have a blessed weekend!!

Oh, Oh, Oh...

Oh! I just have SO much to say it feels like! Man, has it been a week, but a good one at that! :)

So, as you all know, from my earlier post, we started working with the children today...what a joy, and some sadness all in one! In Madisonville, I am working with a 4th grade child, so exciting, except I haven' t met my child yet :( Yes, very sad...but Thursday will come soon enough! Basically, the reason I haven't met my child yet is because today at the intermediate school they were benchmarking. For those of you who don't know what benchmarking is, it is a pre-test to the TAKS. They are testing the children to see where their scores are now, so they can raise them before the actual TAKS test. Yes, way stressful, but it just has to happen! Anyway, since they were testing, we weren't allowed to join them, which is OK! They don't need a bunch of college students standing over them...way too intimidating! Since we had almost an hour and a half to kill, we decided to explore the sweet little town of Madisonville, and oh, what a sweet time it was!!! Big town girl here, got an absolute kick out of this town. It is pretty much a movie making town...everything you would expect is there. Today, we decided to get a little breakfast, so what do you know, we head down to the nearest PHARMACY to get us some grub. I got SUCH a laugh from this! I will have you all know that we sat right next to the laxatives! What a joy!!! There's nothin' like some good home cookin' at the nearest pharmacy, where you can also purchase any medication you need...saves you time, eh?!

Anyway, I had such a BLAST with some of my fellow classmates. Just know, that most of these people I don't know at all, but after today, I just feel like a little family! That's basically what they are anyway, we see each other enough! I just love it that we are all SO different, but yet we come together in something we are all so passionate about, and have the whole world in common. It was a good time!! I am so enjoying reading block. I seriously COULD NOT have asked for a better professor, or better classmates! I enjoy everyone, and the class SO much!

Now, for the tutoring session. Thankfully, I did get to meet my little guy, he is in 1st grade and just about the most precious and funny thing ever. But, let me tell you, I could have cried a river when I left there, simply because he is in 1st grade, yet, he can't even read the word "and". Such a basic word, and he can't even make it out. I had him write for me, and the only letter he can write is an A. This absolutely breaks my heart, but I am pressing forward and KNOWING that when he walks out in may, he will be reading. Maybe not much, but just a little. We have a long way to go, but I am so willing to do what he needs me to, and that is simply LOVE him. His home life is rough, he just needs love! And some guidance along the way! :) Pray for him, please?!

So, then it was time for TRUTH! Something I so look forward to EVERY Tuesday night. If it's not gonna be Beth :), this will do! I learned one thing that totally stood out, and that is:

Your position in Christ will NEVER change. If you are his child, you are his child for GOOD. But, your CONDITION will change, and this is up to us. Are you going to hand the reigns back over to him? I know I am, simply because when I take my life into my own hands, I feel as though everything falls apart. With HIM in control, I feel so much less stressed! What a JOY!!!

Just think about that this week. If it's hard for you to hand over something, pray about it. Simple as that, but yes, I know, HARDER than ever. Take EVERY thought captive to Christ! :)

Love to all of you! Hope you have a joyous week!! Be JOYFUL in HIM!!! :)

Good night precious ones!!

Being trained....

So, I have come to the conclusion that I think the Dept. of Education at SHSU has decided to train every education student to wake up insanely early every morning of their lives! :) Well, maybe not EVERY morning, but seriously!! All this 'being in another city at 8 a.m.' is really starting to catch up to me!!! Especially since I am subbing on Fridays, the one day we have off...it is just exhausting!

I mean clearly you can see that I am typing this blog at 12:15 a.m., which is insane, but it's Friday night, so I am OK!! But, I do feel like getting in bed at 9:00 every night just because I am so tired!! Anyway, enough complaining...just thought I'd let y'all know about the EARLY training of waking up early...gotta get used to it...this will be true for the rest of my life!!

On another note, I am so excited about next week! Next week we finally get to start actually being in the classroom with our precious little one!!! It should be so fun! In the mornings I get to be with ONE child for TWO hours...isn't that crazy!! Crazy, yet SO exciting...I can't wait to build that relationship!!! :) Than, in the afternoons, I get to tutor ONE child for TEN weeks straight!! Now, this child I have already been in contact with and he is a second grader and SO excited...as he would put it..."I get to go to college...!"

YEA for teaching kids how to read!! I am so excited to be out of 'my' classroom for 4 hours a day, and in 'their' classroom where all the action really takes place!! SO fun!! So, if you think about me, just please pray that I would have the energy, strength and excitement to get through those long days!!! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful and refreshing weekend!!!! :)

Signing off....
