Eyebrow Catastrophe

Back in the day I had what I like to call an eyebrow affliction. The tweezers were unfortunately my BFF and we had an undying love. We spent many hours together lying on my bed plucking practically every eyebrow in sight using my tiny little hand held mirror.

I think the obsession with my eyebrows started young as I resembled Brooke Shields in her prime, yet I wasn’t near as attractive as she.

In fifth grade I took a razor to my unibrow, which we all know is an eyebrow tragedy. To my mom’s horror, I walked down stairs to proudly show off my new look. It was then that she saw my eyebrows were the size of a #2 pencil mark. It was bad. Very bad. I’m not sure what it is about the hair on my face that I’m so enthralled by. It’s quite the mystery!

My eyebrow sickness continued well into college until I decided it was time for some eyebrow therapy. Seriously, if counseling would have been offered for this type of sickness, I would have been the first to sign up.

About the time I started taking accutane, I decided as well to go on an eyebrow plucking strike. I wouldn’t take a tweezer to my face if my life depended on it. I needed to reclaim my eyebrows for myself in a bad way! Talk about a time in my life when I felt not the tiniest ounce of self-confidence or attractiveness at all. It was a humbling few months, to say the least. Nothing but honesty, folks.

After nine months of accutane, and a huge dose of patience, my face looked normal again. It’s pitiful that this sounds like an awful “Your face!” joke. Feel free to laugh. Please. I laugh about that time in my life constantly. I finally had normal eyebrows and my face was as clear as crystal.

Since then I’ve not had near the infatuation with tweezers. The Lord broke me free of my tweezer addiction and I’ve truly never been more thankful.

A few months back I was at my parent’s house searching for something when I ran across a ton of my old pictures. I’ve also been a picture freak as long as I’ve lived and my boxes of photos did not disappoint. I scanned a few and since then they’ve been filed away into a folder on my computer until I resurrected them today. It was then that I realized what these pictures were worth. Not only are they middle school and high school oldies, but they are treasure and memories forever.

I would have no greater pleasure than if you would join me on a walk down memory lane.

I present to you, in no particular order, the bad eyebrow years.

You actually can't see my eyebrows here, but this was my graduation party. My parents small group has been in existence since I was born, and half of us graduated the same year so we had our party together. These were some of our decorations. Isn't that neat? What's even neater is that we're still all friends and love each other!

Prom! It was all about the poofy dresses that year.

Senior year D-Now. BFF's still.

Me and Jen at our Senior Send-Off.

Homecoming senior year! Jen, me and Sally. At least my eyebrows were dark.

Birthday celebration!

Cousins!

A serious lack of eyebrows! This was on the Ferris Wheel at Kemah. Can you believe I remember where these pictures were taken? Joanna, remember how we screamed the entire time?

Camp senior year in Colorado. That year our worship leader was David Crowder! Awesome!

Senior pictures!

This was FRESHMAN YEAR! Exactly 11 years ago.

Freshman year again! I didn't always have bad skin. Ha!

This was sophomore year volunteering at our fall festival. Clearly we were in over our heads. The eyebrows started making an appearance, but soon faded.

Into this! Sophomore year Christmas party. Mercy!

This was the night before Joanna got engaged. I had just started growing out my eyebrows! I think I was well into accutane then as well.

I'm surprised I graduated with such little eyebrows.

Prom!

If you enlarge this one you can see the teeny eyebrows! Shout out to Jaclyn who did my make-up. Love her!

Squinting appears to make the eyebrows appear smaller. Oh wait, I had no eyebrows!

Did my friends ever try to rescue me?! ;)

Senior year for some reason created a serious lack of eyebrows. Someone help a sister out!

The end.

Okay, so maybe this was a little more than an eyebrow shout out. It was a little walk down memory lane as well. I think it was fun! The blessing in it all? All these peeps are still my BFF's. I'm so grateful!

I hope you and your eyebrows have a fantastic Thursday evening. I don't even need to add a "now" picture as they've been normal for as long as I've blogged! Over three years! Praise be!

Be Trendy

I've really been struggling with what to do with my blog design. I'm not sure "struggling" is the correct term, as it sounds over dramatic but I really want a cute blog template without paying tons of money. You get my drift?

Anywho, I found this really cute website of free design templates that I'm loving. And what's even better is that it's called Leelou. Do you see the resemblance? Lindsee Lou, Leelou? Love it.

So, until my fickle self decides what it wants to do with the blog design, I'm going to take full advantage of Leelou's blog layouts. I also took it up a notch and went to a 3 column layout. I'm so moving up in the world!

Thank you, Leelou, for your precious, free designs! I love my new "Be Trendy" design.

BTW, I'm working on my Q&A post. It's been fun but it's time consuming! It should be up by Friday, at least the first part.

Have a happy Wednesday, peeps!

An Easter I Won't Soon Forget

My family had a wonderful Easter Sunday! It started out a little wet and gloomy, which was kind of disappointing because we'd all planned on it being fairly nice outside, however, by about 3:00 this afternoon, the clouds rolled away, taking the humidity along with them, and it turned out gorgeous! My eyes are now reaping the consequences of sitting outside for too long with my BFF, pollen, but I'll forgive it because it's too pretty not to be outside this time of year. Like I've said countless times, our beautiful weather is few and far between in Houston.

Anyway, enough about the weather.

I had to be up super early this morning to be at church for praise team, but it was so worth it. I've really missed singing on a consistent basis for a while now, so I'm excited to be back on the praise team rotation! It's such a fun blessing to be able to serve in that way

All of our services went very smoothly, and both contemporary services were packed to the brim, which is always expected.

However, what we didn't expect, nor plan for, was the fire alarm that went off during our last service about 15 minutes into the sermon!

All of the sudden the sirens started going off, and everyone just started looking at each other. Our pastor stood there kind of stunned as well and of course on top of the loud, obnoxious noise was an automated ladies voice saying, "This is an emergency, please exit the building."

I mean, are you serious? Is this really happening?

I've literally been in church my entire life, yes that's only 24 years, but in all those years the fire alarm, as far as I can recall, has never gone off. Let alone on Easter Sunday when there are easily 1,000 people per service in attendance.

After what seemed like minutes, but was probably only one minute, people started exiting calmly and collectively. No one running, no one screaming, just a calm mass exodus. It was very surreal. We all waited outside for about 10 minutes, then got the thumbs up to go back in, that everything was indeed, okay. The real miracle is that most people returned and the rest of the service went off without a hitch.

Who knows if it was spiritual warfare, or a divine appointment, but either way God had a plan for that small interruption. Making it most definitely one of the most memorable Easter services I've ever been to. I give huge props to Pastor Dave for re-grouping and re-focusing everyone back to Christ and what he did on the cross. He still presented the gospel clearly and about 30 came to Christ! Praise the Lord!

After church, we headed to my parents and ate some delicious food. We even got to enjoy some pre-wedding cake, because our pastors wife is making the cake for their sons wedding in May, so she's been practicing. We got to be the taste testers and I was all about volunteering.

Looking back it was a great, relaxing, refreshing, recharging kind of a day. We sang my favorite Easter song, Worthy is the Lamb, and with that alone my day would have been perfect! What's your favorite Easter song? (Truly, I say that's mine but I have about 27.) I just love Easter!

The "fake" wedding cake! Tasty!

My sweet family of 5. Love them!

Our friends, Jan & Stuart. They're like family to us! (Really, my parents entire small group is like family. But they weren't all there. Shout out to them. They're the best group ever! And they've been together for a sweet forever!)

Brother. Sister. Brother.

Mom likes her little boy and girl plant holders!

At this point we were being completely silly! But I think it's cute!

Check out my ginormous ring. I love it.

Smile!

At this point Kev was just playing with my camera.

I can't wear white without getting something on it. Bummer.

Kevyn and Jane! Best buds!

My mom and Jessie. Jessie has been apart of our family since Katrina! We love her!

Our beloved pastor and his wife, Dave and Kathi. We love them!

Happy Easter, everyone! I hope your day was delightful!

In The Grip of The Biggest Loser

Once upon a time there was a girl who lived in Houston, Texas that was undeniably obsessed with the reality TV show, The Biggest Loser. Some might call it an unhealthy obsession, but I like to refer to it as a very strong liking toward said TV program.

Okay, well actually, once upon a time isn't the correct reference as I am still very much gripped by The Biggest Loser. It still holds the number one spot in my ranking of TV shows. Glee & The Office come in at a very close second. If you asked me why I love it so much, I would have no idea. I simply love it. Although I did attempt to explain my love for it here if you're still intrigued by my love for a simple TV show.

To be completely honest, since I have such high aspirations in life, my bucket list includes visiting the Biggest Loser Ranch (which I just might get to do this summer), meeting the infamous Bob Harper & Jillian Michaels and attending a live finale. Yes, folks, I aspire to much. My parents are so proud.

About a month ago we were at our monthly youth pastors network meeting and somehow Biggest Loser came up in our conversation. I think it's because we were explaining our theme for our summer camp which happens to be Biggest Loser. (Before you all go thinking that was my idea, think again. It was completely 100% my bosses idea, but one that I very much encouraged and loved.) Anyway, one of the other youth pastors from a church around the corner from us popped up and mentioned that they were bringing in Michelle Aguilar from season 6 one Wednesday evening.

I immediately flipped out. They didn't have to ask me if I knew who she was when I basically yelled that she is my favorite contestant of all the seasons! I know I acted completely ridiculous, but I was excited nonetheless.

Of course they invited me to come and meet her and not two seconds later it was in my iPhone calendar.

That day was yesterday.

After work I headed straight to the church along with Mary, Dana and Megan, all of whom love the show as well.

The only bummer was that I knew I would have to leave early because I had rehearsal for Easter at the same time.

Once they let all the students in, I asked one of my youth pastor friends if I could meet her. Of course he obliged and pointed me towards her standing by the sound booth. At that point I got super, super nervous. What do I say to her, is all I kept thinking. But, I knew that if I left without getting the chance to meet her, I would have been totally irritated with myself.

I walked up to her, and mumbled something to the effect of, "Hi Michelle. Um, I'm so glad you're here. I work with girls. Thank you for coming. You're my favorite and um, always have been. And, um, thank you. Um, you're great. And I, um, can't wait to hear your story"

Seriously, I acted like a complete and utter idiot. She was so sweet, asked me my name, said thank you, told me she was nervous, and yada, yada, yada. And then we commemorated by taking a picture. (One of which, to be completely honest, I don't like of myself, but beggars can't be choosers.)

After worship, they introduced her and she proceeded to tell her story and then they went into a Q&A session with her of questions that the students wrote down.

Of course the first question was about how Bob & Jillian were in real life. Her answer?

"Bob, on T.V., nice. Bob, off T.V., mean. Jillian, on T.V., mean. Jillian, off T.V., nice."

I kind of figured.

There were a ton more questions, and then I had to leave a little before she ended. I loved every second of it! Meeting her and listening to her. I knew her story already because of how much Biggest Loser honed in on it during her season, but it was nice to hear an un-edited version.

If you've not heard her story, please click here to listen to her I Am Second video. I think I Am Second is such a neat ministry and she was blessed to be apart of it!

And I was blessed to get to meet her!

Next bucket list item? Get her to speak at one of my girls retreats.

Hey, it could happen!

Monday Ramblings

I don't have much to blog about because I literally stayed in my PJ's all day Saturday, but I do have a few random thoughts. Hence the Monday ramblings!

1) I finally got a real, live legit picture taken with a real camera from Melissa of me, Mrs. Francine and Jen and I love it. I'm not holding the wrong book and we're just happy! I still think about how fun it was to meet her. I just stared at her all morning thinking she wrote Redeeming Love. That woman wrote it. It's brilliant. As are the rest of her books and as is she.

2) This past Thursday me and my roommates went to a Girls' Night Out hosted by our dear Christian radio station, KSBJ. They brought in Anita Renfroe, known famously for her mom song, Momisms, and Mandisa, known formerly as a contestant on American Idol. I'd never seen either of these ladies live and they did not disappoint. Anita was knee slapping hilarious and y'all, Mandisa is nothing but amazing. She makes singing look effortless! Even though Anita's humor is mainly geared towards moms and "older" ladies, we had such a fun time and laughed so hard all night long. Since I'm singing on our Easter praise team next Sunday, I joked the next day that I would be channeling my inner Mandisa for Easter. Joked is the key word there. I don't even compare to homegirl. Needless to say, if either of these women are anywhere near you, go see them!

Me and Claire wasting time during intermission.

Mandy, Claire & myself. Mandy's mom came too, but somehow we managed to never get her in a picture!

3) People don't move to Houston for the weather. However, there is about a four week window when we get the most beautiful weather ever! Granted, that's when the allergies are at their highest, but it's worth it. For about four weeks during the Spring and Fall, we know that Jesus loves us. We are in the middle of those four weeks and it's gorgeous! I cannot spend enough time outside! I looked at the forecast today for the rest of the week, and according to weather.com we're in for a treat this week. I'm so thankful!

4) Because of said beautiful weather, we took full advantage of it Friday night and me and my dad, along with my BFF and her parents went and ate outside at Goode Company BBQ! (My mom was in San Antonio accompanying a choir contest.) It was such a fun night. They have a live band there which makes it a tad loud, but what's more fun then yelling at each other over dinner? I love sitting outside!

5) I spent all day Saturday, unfortunately, inside. My last Sunday of teaching at our High School service was this past Sunday and there was just so much information that I spent most of Saturday compiling it all. I have to say that teaching these past three weeks, and not just girls but our entire group, was so challenging. Challenging but great! As much as I love teaching, I get super anxious. It's something that requires me to depend completely on HIM to speak through me and that's how it should be. I'm thankful for the challenge, but also thankful it's over for the time being. Thank you to everyone who prayed for me. The Lord is faithful and good! I felt your prayers!

6) They say everything is bigger in Texas and Sunday my mom proved that. There is a new Mexican restaurant, Ruby Tequila's, that we've enjoyed lately and we went there for lunch on Sunday. Our favorite part of the restaurant is their table side guacamole that is to die for! They make it in front of you all while your mouth is watering. If you go there, you have to try it. Anywho, my mom order a taco salad. When they brought it out we were in awe of the size of it. Not only was it huge, but they prepared it to look like a ginormous taco. It was hilarious! She ate about a third of it and took the rest home. Truly, everything is bigger in Texas.

It was as big as her head!

7) I've decided to wear my white pants on Easter. To be honest, they're probably one of my favorite pairs of clothing and quite frankly, they've been in hiding too long. And honestly, they're more comfortable to wear on stage while singing on praise team. So, instead of getting a new dress for Easter, I figured I would get a cute top to go with my pants. Not hard, right? Well, unfortunately, it's harder than I thought. I went to our outlet mall today and came home empty handed. I've not given up hope and it's truly not a huge deal to me. It's just fun to have something new. It looks like I'll now be shopping with the rest of the peeps on Friday or Saturday. If I find nothing, I'll just go shopping in my closet. My wallet would love that.

8) I'm going to keep my Q&A post up until Friday so ask away! It's been fun reading some of your questions already and thinking up an answer in my head. Thanks for playing along!

9) I just went to Step Aerobics, and now I'm feeling the need for my Dryer's French Silk Ice Cream. I'm normally not a Dryer's girl, but this ice cream is delicious! I think I'll go serve myself a scoop.

10) I just couldn't end the ramblings on an odd number! I'm out!

You Ask, I Attempt To Answer

I did this way back when I first started my blog, but I thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A!

Do you have a question for me? Serious. Funny. Silly. Job. Single. Jesus. Food. T.V. Movies. College. Boys. Blog. Books. Bible Studies. Ministry. BFF's. Phi Lamb.

Maybe you do, maybe you don't. I guess we'll all find out! Sometime next week I'll attempt to answer the questions!

In the meantime, enjoy my list of "10 Things You Might Not Know" about me. I posted these on the LPM blog in a comment, but thought it would be fun to post them here, too! Hey, it just might spur on some questions!

1. I was on accutane for 9 months. Most people are only on it for 6 at the most. My greatest fear is that my acne will return at any moment in full force.

2. You'll know I'm in a good mood if I'm either singing or humming as I walk around.

3. I've never dated/kissed/or been on a date with a guy. I'll be 25 in June.

4. I like to pick my mascara off my eyelashes at night when I'm watching TV. It's odd.

5. I still check showers and closets when I have to sleep alone at night in my house.

6. I was the first of my entire family born and raised in Texas. My parents had just moved from Colorado when they had me.

7. I've only thrown up twice in my entire life.

8. I love the smell of bleach. And gasoline. In fact, staring at my freshly cleaned room/home makes me happy.

9. Growing up my nickname was "Bubbles" for reasons that I will not explain here. Well, that and Lindsee Lou.

10. I wear a 37 inch inseam. My legs are that long.

Strength for the Day

If I know about any subject in life particularly well, I know about singleness.

I’ve lived it.

I’m currently living it.

I could possibly, maybe, scared out of my mind write a book on it.

It’s something I simply know how to do.

They say you learn most by doing something, and well, I’m doing it for goodness sake.

To be completely vulnerable here, since I know how to manage singleness so well and how to maneuver my way through it, the thought of a relationship with a male completely freaks me out.

Funny and ironic, I’d say. That the one thing I desire most is quite possibly also the one thing I fear the most.

I’m thinking a class on dating and maneuvering through relationships would come in particularly handy, but the movie Hitch will have to suffice. It’s totally legit.

I’m completely preparing myself for one awkward situation after another when I start dating, but that’s neither here nor there.

I think the number one question I get quite often is, “How do you do it?”

I often wonder why that’s the question of choice, because, do what? I have no other option but to live life as a current single girl in this season, so what else would I do? Depend on my imaginary husband? And to be completely honest, as tough as singleness can be, it's not the worst of situations in life that will arise.

The truth is yes, there are some hard days. Some lonely days. Some frustrating days. Some confusing days. There were the days I gleefully married off all my BFF’s. But they’re just that. Days. Not weeks, months, or years. But days.

Isn’t it the same if you were a wife or mother? What if someone asked you how you did it? The answer is, day by day you do it. It’s the season of life the Lord has you in and you have no other option but to embrace it. And love it.

The last thing I want people to think is that my all consuming thoughts are of marriage and this never-ending season of singleness. Let’s face it, the girls that are most miserable in their single years, are often the girls most miserable when they’re married. If I can help it, I’d rather not be that girl.

Singleness is certainly my most current trial, and it is definitely trying. But this too shall pass.

So how do I do it? I embrace it. I learn from it. I grow in it. I enjoy it. I serve in it. I wait in it. And I hope in it.

I change in it. Oh, how sad it would be to move on from this season into the next one as the same girl, leaving my sanctification to the birds.

What I find completely humorous is that when I think I have this whole singleness and waiting thing figured out, He goes and messes with me. For that, I’m thankful. Like I’ve said, I don’t want to be complacent in this season acting as though it has no purpose. It has a huge purpose, oh yes ma’am it does.

His Glory and my sanctification are both at stake.

The other day when I was driving up I-45 it was no surprise to me that he went and messed with my mind. Some might call it a revelation of sorts.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been praying that the Lord would give me patience in this season of waiting. Waiting is no small feat. However, I had a good laugh over that prayer the other day because hello, patience waits! I am waiting! I am being patient! The longer I pray for patience, the longer He may make me wait.

The truth is, I’m a naturally pretty patient person. To me, patience, although a fruit of the Spirit, comes more naturally to me more than other.

You know what I need more than patience?

Strength.

I wish y’all knew how extremely thankful I am that I don’t know the outcome of my life, or better yet, the timetable.

Every now and then I get anxious at the thought that I’ll be 25 this June and will still be flying solo. I get anxious because it feels like the time is just ticking away. When most of my friends seem to be moving on, and not just in dating and marriage, but having kids, I can get myself pretty worked up.

Wasn’t life supposed to be like that? You all get married at the same time? Raise your kids together? Go on vacations together?

You see why I can get anxious? In a sense, I feel like I’m being left behind.

Hence the needing of His strength.

If I knew that the Lord has it planned that I won’t get married until I’m 28, or 34, or 40 or gasp! Never (although I don’t think that is His plan) I’m not sure I could be so patient. I’d be an anxious ball of mess. And not a pretty one.

But the fact is, I don’t know the timetable. Maybe I’ll meet my man tomorrow; maybe I’ll meet him in 10 years.

Whatever the case, I need strength for the day. Maybe for a particular day it will be strength for that second, minute or hour and I know He is faithful and He will provide it.

With His strength I can get through a day. And you know what? That excites me? Even if I get married 10 years from today, I know that His strength will be enough for each and every one of those days.

I may be the last on this bandwagon, but I pray that is encouragement to somebody. That those that are in a season of waiting, whatever it is you’re waiting for, know that God will give you strength for the day.

So how do I do it? With His strength. Not my own.

Feel blessed that He would count you worthy enough to endure this trial for His Glory. I know I do.

“But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind.” Isaiah 40:31

Protect Your Privacy

Hi friends!

I wanted to get on here real quick and let you all know about a website that I just recently heard about through a friend on facebook.

It is an online White Pages, and quite frankly, has way too much free information about you and your family.

Please go to spokeo.com and search your name. You may have to do some extensive searching by states, cities, and suburbs but once you get to your profile, you'll realize that it is completely worth it. I went to the bottom of the screen, clicked privacy, and followed the instructions to block info about me being shown. It was super creepy. If you can't find your name because it's too generic, search your husbands. I promise, everyone who we tried to find just now in the office, we found, even though at first it seemed like they weren't listed.

It has information like your address, phone number, income, children, and even a picture of your house.

It only took me 5 minutes to do! Please spread the word!

Thank you and have a happy Wednesday!

Remeber that time I forgot my memory stick?

I had a wonderful, calm, restful weekend. Yes, I kept myself moving, but it wasn't stressful, well, that is until Sunday morning but we'll get to that later.

This past Tuesday I missed both Bible Study and The Biggest Loser because I was in Fort Worth. Not a big deal, right? It wasn't a big deal until I realized that Biggest Loser did not record. Tragedy ensued for about 5 seconds then I got over it. The reason I hate missing the show is because it's the one show they don't put it online till a week later! Waiting a week would be painful, but I could do it. However, Mandy, my roommate, realized that it recorded at her parents house, so she told me and Claire to come over on Friday night to watch it.

As lame as that sounds, I was all over watching Biggest Loser on Friday night. We went over and her dad was grilling steak and vegetables for dinner. I didn't even know we were eating over there so that was a huge treat! Mandy's sister just had a baby 3 weeks ago, and she came over too. I loved, loved, loved holding that little guy. He was all wide eyed and alert when I held him which was perfect. We also took a trip to the pond to feed the ducks with her 2 year old, which really turned into playing on the golf course. It was a gorgeous evening just for that!

We ate, chatted, laughed, watched Biggest Loser while everyone else watched Basketball, and then we went home. I love Friday nights like that. Just calm and fun!

Mandy and I stayed up chatting way to late for me to be up early Saturday morning, but there was no way I was going to miss meeting Francine Rivers! I love her books!

So, Saturday morning Jen and I met up at the Barnes & Noble to get our books signed by Francine Rivers and Beth Moore. We weren't sure if there would be a huge line or not, so we decided to meet there a little after 9 that morning. Jen got there first, took a place in line, then I followed in behind her a few minutes later. To our surprise, it wasn't super crowded which was nice.

As we were sitting in line waiting and chatting, I asked one of the ladies near us to take a picture. She happily obliged, so I handed her my camera and she snapped away. It until that moment that I took my camera back from her to review our picture, when I saw that my camera said I had no memory card. No memory card? What? I checked, and sure enough, there was no memory card.

I was about to meet Francine Rivers and I had no memory card! It was my shining moment. Way to go, Lindsee! I never leave it in my computer, but alas, I did. I referred to that moment as my epic fail of the day for the rest of the weekend. And honestly, this fail didn't help my nerves at all.

Thankfully, I had my iPhone which takes somewhat decent pictures, but I hated to be that girl. You know what I mean? Can't you see it?

"Hi Francine, I love your books. I think your writing is amazing. Thank you so much for coming and signing them for us! Would you please smile for my iPhone? Because I no longer believe in real live, legit cameras!"

Sure enough, I was that girl. Yes, yes, I was.

It was probably all my insecurity coming out which was ironic since I also waited in line for Beth Moore to sing my So Long, Insecurity book.

Nonetheless, it was a fun morning at the book store. Melissa was there with her real, live legit camera and took a few pictures so I'm hoping they turned out better than my ShakeItPhoto pictures! However, when all was said and done, I'd met Francine Rivers who signed my book, and got to hug all 3 Moore ladies. So without further ado, please review my oh-so-professional iPhone pictures from the morning.

Me and Jen waiting in line.

Me and sweet Francine Rivers. Notice what book I'm holding up. Neat, Lindsee. Epic fail yet again! That's not even her book!

Jen and the lady of the hour.

Right after the signing it started pouring rain! There happened to be a Gap right across the road, so I skipped over there and although I was mainly disappointed at their lack of good clothing, I did leave with a cute skirt for $10 that was originally $60. I'd say it was a good deal! After that I was even more ready to start wearing cute spring and summer clothes for good, but the weather had other plans because it dropped a good 50 degrees that day. No lie!

As much as I should have gone grocery shopping on my way home, I decided against it because my bed, a book and a blanket sounded more invited that any HEB store did. Seriously, what was I even thinking? HEB on a Saturday in the rain? Torture.

I did indeed go home and read, then later on changed into some more wintry clothes and headed to Pappasito's with my family. Kevyn was home for Spring Break all week so it was his last wonderful meal. Oh, the fajitas. I'm currently sitting here thinking about eating the leftovers for lunch.

Sunday morning came quickly and I have to be at church at 8. Normally I'm leaving my house around 7:45, especially the past few weeks because not only has my boss been in India on a missions trip, but I've been teaching. Imagine my shock yesterday morning when I woke up at 7:40. It was one of those moments that the clock made no sense whatsoever. I stared, thought, stared, then jumped out of bed in a frenzy. Thankfully, my hair didn't need washing since I'd washed it Saturday, but still, I hate when that happens. And believe me, it doesn't happen often!

I made it to church by 8:30 which wasn't awful! I still had more than enough time to do all that I needed to do so my stress slowly faded away. Except for the fact that my stomach turns until the minute I walk off that stage after teaching. I love it, but it gets my nerves stirring more than anything! I will say, this second week I felt much better about the message than I did the first week, which was a blessing. I have one more week in this 3 week series than I'm done! It's exhausting and exhilarating at the same time! I'd so appreciate your prayers as I prepare to teach one more week!

All in all it was a fabulously cold, spring weekend. Now that I've managed to make this post the longest post weekend update ever, I'll let you go! I've done one load of laundry and have many more to do. It's cleaning, errands and aerobics day.

Happy Monday!
