Earlier today one of my good friends from school sent me a message about my password on facebook, it was a long story but I ended up giving it to her. About 2 seconds after I sent the message, I received another message from the same girl, laughing in my face, telling me it wasn't her and that if I didn't comply with the orders given, I would loose my facebook and email.
Immediately, I went to my email and was already aced out. I could not log in. After trying to change my email password I realized that who ever had my password, had already changed everything, including my birthday, so I was helpless.
So, immediately after that, I went to change my facebook password. I accomplished that and felt satisfied. Except, that I forgot something. When you change your password, it sends the new one to your email. What is a girl to do?
After negotiating with this person online, he finally changed my facebook account info to where I could no longer log on. I then logged on to my friends facebook, messaged myself (in which the hacker was now on my facebook), and sent him a message. In order to get everything back, he wanted me to do things I would NEVER in a million years.
So, needless to say, as of right now I have no email and no facebook. I have contacted both yahoo and facebook for them to deactivate both of my accounts. We will see how that goes.
If you are friends with me on facebook, please here this, if "I" send you a message, it is NOT ME. Don't reply! Even if I sound as sweet as pie.
Jennifer (jenthenewlywed) was researching a bit and saw that this happened last summer. A 20 year old boy in NY was doing this and it was happening at about 2 dozen colleges. He was put in jail for this, but then later realized. You can go here to read the whole story.
Well, I am off to figure this out and see what I can do. It is a miserable feeling because literally, me email is everything.
If you know anyone, or have any children on facebook, let them know about this. I hope this helps spread the word...

OH MY WORD!!! That's the most ridiculous thing in the world why? Thats seriously horrible, I sure hope facebook at least deactivates your account, I think they're pretty good about getting back to people. Thanks for letting people know that because I probably would've done the same thing!
Wow, thanks for letting me know! That is craziness! He did message me and asked if I could do a favor. I replied and said, "Is it too late?" Now I will not reply again!
Aw Lindsee! Jen called me earlier freaking out and told me everything! I am so sorry - these people are just despicable and I am praying that this gets resolved for you! There are some absolute crazies out there!!
What a terrible thing for a person to do! He did it to Hannah Rojas and Mary Haddad also. I'm so sorry!! I'll be praying everything works out ok!

Oh Dear Lindse, our teenagers have each other's passwords...hope they don't share them.
A couple of weeks ago I received an e-mail from a guy asking if he could comment on my blog---thought maybe he was from my church so I clicked on his name on the e-mail and he took over my blog---craziness---820 posts on my blog of pornography and stuff and I couldn't get it off right away and within a couple of hours my computer crashed...really weird. I have no more desk computer...guess we just can't open ANYTHING we don't explicitly know.
So sorry for you in your dilemma. Will pray that it gets straightened out for you fully! Love you girl! Bev

Lindsee - I am sorry this has happen. I kwo the feeling of having your identity stolen. It hapeened to me about 4 years ago. It was some lady in St. Louis that had my social and was going crazy. It was like one of those Time Magazine stories. It was difficult to clear up too. But more than anything really scary for me. They had everything about me and knew how to find me too. It is crazy how something good can be so bad and dangerous!! Thank you for the warning!! I am praying for this to be cleared up.

(I came from Amanda's page.) This happened to my daughter as well. I tried to get yahoo to terminate her email account, but I don't think their automated system understood what I was asking. Anywho, sorry you had these troubles. I know it's a pain in the bahootie!

Mercy, why are some people so mean and hateful? What's the payoff for this guy? The thrill of being evil? Sounds like he needs a big dose of Jesus' love and forgiveness.

This person needs a hobby. I hope this doesn't come off as harsh, but he sounds like a sad, lonely, and angry individual in need of attention/interaction. Obviously, he really needs the love of Jesus in his life.
Having said that, I would probably get the authorities involved. They take fraud and identity theft issues pretty seriously these days. Maybe if you tell him you're taking this issue to the police he will stop doing it to other unsuspecting people? There must be some way to track down who he is...

I have 2 teens and recently someone got hold of my daughters password and sent very inappropriate photos of someone to all her friends. it was a mess trying to backtrack!
She said "Mom, I feel like I have no privacy!" After a long minute I said..."you're right, and it appears in your lifetime, you never will.'
That is our new world. so sad.
